One of my Favorite Green Smoothie Recipes
My Vitamix had been collecting dust for MONTHS but you know what hadn’t been? My KEYBOARD because I sure started logging onto DoorDash getting out of hand with ordering takeout again 😩 Not to say ordering / eating out occasionally is bad, but it was slowly starting to become a habit again!
Today, I got back in my green smoothie kick and this was BOMB - I had it with my chicken sausage! Here is the recipe if anyone wants to try it. I drew inspiration one of JJ Smith’s green smoothie recipes but altered it to my liking!
✨ About a cup and a fourth of water (do more or less depending on how thick you like it)
✨ 1 apple
✨ 1 banana
✨ 1 and half cup frozen strawberries ✨ 2 handfuls of baby spinach
✨ 2 handfuls of spring mix greens
✨ 1 scoop of protein powder (unflavored or vanilla is best - I use Raw Organic Protein & Greens to add protein + additional greens)
✨ 1 tablespoon flaxseed (if you don’t mind slightly higher calories, add 2 tablespoons. Flaxseed helps with digestion and reduces risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes
✨ 1 scoop of collagen powder with all 5 types of collagen* (this is optional - but I typically add collagen to my green smoothies for skin elasticity and bone health)
✨ and if it’s not naturally sweet enough for your liking, add a tablespoon or two of Stevia or Truvia
